UConn Needs New Coach after Mora takes Colorado State Job

  After the most successful two-year stretch in its FBS existence, UConn football will be looking for a new coach. deal is imminent between Colorado State and Jim Mora Jr. to make him the new Rams head coach. Mora was hired in 2021 after the end of Randy Edsall’s disastrous second tenure and in the wake of UConn football’s move to independence out of the AAC. In his first season, 2022, Mora led the Huskies to a 6-7 record and the program’s first bowl appearance since 2015. In 2023, they took a step back as the campaign started with five straight losses and ended 3-9. That offseason, the program hired personnel staff and significantly upped its investment in NIL, bringing in players with the type of pedigree that had never previously set foot in the UConn locker room before. In 2024, the Huskies won eight regular-season games for the first time since 2010 before triumphing over North Carolina at the Fenway Bowl — its first bowl victory since 2009. Uconn Wide Reciever Bell makes history as first player in program history to become a finalist for one of college football's top awards

UConn wide receiver Skyler bell (Bronx, NY) has been named one of three finalist for the 2025 Biletnikoff Award as announced on Tuesday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc. The winner will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN on December 12. Bell is the first Husky in program history to become a finalist for one of college football's top awards. He is joined by other finalists Makai Lemon of USC and Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State for final consideration for this season's award. The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot or inside receiver, wing back, or running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. Laney College AD former Coach and Last Chance U Coach Killed

  Retired “Last Chance U” football coach John Beam died Friday in Northern California and a suspect was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting at Laney College in Oakland, authorities said. The suspect was identified as Cedric Irving Jr., a 27-year-old former high school football player who was arrested without incident, police said. Irving played at Skyline High School in Oakland where Beam once coached, but not when the suspect was a student there. Who was John beam and his legacy  Hall of Fame Coach John Beam started at Laney College as the Running Backs coach in 2004 and in 2005 he was promoted to the Offensive Coordinator position. As the Offensive Coordinator, he lead an explosive offense that helped the Eagles win 3 conference championships and 5 straight bowl game appearances. In 2012, he became the Head Football Coach. Rams Jackson to play amid lawsuit allegations

Rams  coach Sean McVay said left tackle Alaric Jackson   will play Sunday against the seahawks   despite the lawsuit filed against Jackson on Thursday. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Jackson recorded a woman without her consent during sex, refused to delete the video and taunted her with it. According to the lawsuit, the woman reported the incident to the NFL, which investigated Jackson and suspended him. Jackson served a two-game suspension in 2024 after the NFL announced he had violated the league's personal conduct policy. Jackson spoke to the media Friday but, when answering questions about the matter, noted that "it's a court case" and said that he "can't really say anything about it right now." McVay said he and the team were aware of the allegations but, as with any legal matters, wanted to "keep those things in-house." Ethan Pritchard Released from Rehab Center and will be at game saterday

 flordia state    freshman linebacker   Ethan Pritchard    has been released from in-patient rehab and is expected to attend the Seminoles' final home game of the season against   Virginia tech   on Saturday. Pritchard returned to Tallahassee on Friday and visited with the team He plans to continue his rehab back home in Central Florida, and told WESH-TV in an interview his plan is to play football again. Pritchard was shot in the head Aug. 31 in what the authorities have described as a case of mistaken identity. He was dropping his aunt and a child off following a family party in Havana, Fla., about 16 miles from Tallahassee, near the Georgia state line. Four people were arrested last month in connection with the shooting. Pritchard told WESH, "I remember everything. I turned the corner and shots rang off. Washington State fires athletic director McCoy

Less than 18 months into her tenure, athletic director Anne McCoy was fired by  Washington State  on Wednesday. McCoy, who has worked at Washington State since 2001, served in the AD role on an interim basis until she was  promoted in spring 2024  by former president Kirk Schulz, who retired earlier this year and was replaced by Elizabeth Cantwell. "Anne has provided steady leadership through one of the most complex and pivotal periods in the history of Cougar Athletics," Cantwell said in a statement. "She built a strong foundation for the program's future grounded in integrity, academic success, and care for our student-athletes. We are deeply grateful for Anne's decades of service and her unwavering commitment to Washington State University." Jon Haarlow, the chief operating officer for WSU athletics, has been named interim AD until a replacement for McCoy is found.
