Jazz kessler out for season

 Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler's season is over after just five games. The 24-year-old will undergo season-ending left shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum, ending his 2025-26 season, the team announced.

Kessler played in the team's first five games of the regular season before leaving the team in the middle of a road trip due to the injury. At the time, the team announced Kessler returned to Utah to undergo more tests on his shoulder.  Kessler missed the next two games before Wednesday's report that he needed surgery. Kessler also missed a large chunk of the preseason due to a left shoulder issue. 

With the situation ongoing, Kessler suited up for the Jazz once the regular season started. In five games, he averaged a career-high 14.4 points. Kessler also chipped in 10.8 rebounds and three assists prior to the injury. 

he was in talks on a new contract, but both sides were too far from getting a deal done.Kessler was going into his last year of his rookie contract and is supposed to be a free agent after this season

Ohio fire Coach Smith For Cause

  Ohio University fired football coach Brian Smith for cause on Wednesday, more than two weeks after he was unexpectedly placed on leave by the university. “ The termination follows an administrative review of allegations that Smith violated the terms of his employment agreement by engaging in serious professional misconduct and participating in activities that reflect unfavorably on the University,” the university said in a statement. It did not elaborate on the specifics of the allegations. “We vigorously dispute Ohio University’s grounds for the termination for cause of Coach Brian Smith,” Smith’s attorney, Rex Elliott, said in a statement Wednesday. “He is shocked and dismayed by this turn of events, and we plan to fight this wrongful termination to protect his good name.
